Meet Birdie

Hi, I’m Birdie!

I’m an 8 year old Toodle (Terrier + Poodle). The first 5 years of my life are a blur since a year ago I was dropped off at the Shelby County Humane Society in Columbiana, Alabama due to a “Lifestyle Change” of my previous owners. But, the best news is after the #StayAtHomeAndFoster Campaign started. I only spent 10 days in the slammer! Thankfully, my new Mom @BloggingBrandi saved me.

Now, I’m living the dream in an RV @RVersity traveling places I’ve never been before with all the toys and treats my heart desires. I’ve even learned how to sit, and am working on learning a few new tricks! Also, Belly rubs are my favorite, and I prefer to sleep under the covers, but I’m always down for a cuddle and giving out lots of kisses!

The only problem I have is slowing down. I guess it’s the terrier in me that allows me to FLY HIGH and FAST like a Bird — maybe that’s how I got my name. Oh and I have an ear piercing bark.

I LOVE my new “lifestyle change” and my mission is to help more dogs like me find a new home.

Meet Milo

Meet Milo: The OG at Birdie’s Doghouse

Milo holds a special place in the heart of Birdie’s Doghouse. He’s not just any dog; he’s the OG, the littlest guy in town, and quite possibly the one who sparked the creation of Birdie’s Doghouse itself. Without him picking out Birdie at the shelter, the whole venture might never have come to be.

Milo’s Background:

Milo is a Toy Poodle, though we suspect he might actually be a Tiny Toy Breed. He typically stays around 5 lbs, depending on his food intake, especially his love for treats. At 11 years old, he’s matured gracefully from black to a charming grey. He is the oldest and littlest member of Birdie’s Doghouse!

Meet Johnny

Meet Johnny The CAT + Dog!

Johnny, our remarkable feline friend, boasts an impressive resume at just 2 years old, adopted into our lives at the tender age of 3-6 months. As a sleek black bobtail weighing in at a dainty 5-6 lbs, Johnny exudes an air of mystery and charm.

Initially plucked from the prestigious Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta, Georgia, Johnny caught our eye at an animal adoption event hosted by Marty Kemp. Despite being the only resident cat in a household brimming with canine companions, Johnny seamlessly integrates into our canine-centric abode, embodying the spirit of a true “cat-dog.”

Hailing from a shelter in Gilmer County, Georgia, Johnny’s upbringing among dogs has imbued him with a unique set of traits. He adores treats, gets along famously with his canine cohorts, and possesses clear nails, making grooming a breeze. A seasoned traveler, Johnny traverses the country with ease, whether in a cat carry case or indulging in the luxuries of RV and van life.

However, Johnny’s regal demeanor belies a mischievous streak, as evidenced by his extreme food aggression and penchant for cord-chewing escapades. Despite his love for the great outdoors, Johnny’s adventures are carefully curated, confined to enclosed environments to prevent any rogue escapes.

With a taste for the finer things in life, Johnny has graced hotels, RVs, airbnbs, and more, leaving a trail of feline mischief in his wake. Though not without his quirks, including a distaste for other cats and a preference for unconventional toilet habits, Johnny’s adaptability and charm continue to captivate all who encounter him.

Meet Roland

Introducing Roland our adorable Rescue!

Roland, our adorable Shih Tzu, holds a special place in our hearts as a cherished member of our family. Rescued from a challenging hoarding situation alongside nearly 30 other dogs, he has overcome adversity with grace and resilience. 🐾

Our little Roland adores being held and carried like a baby, reveling in moments of cuddles and affection. When he’s not enjoying quality time with his human family, he delights in playing with his treasured toys and snuggling up with his furry canine and feline buddies. 🐱🧸

❗️On a quick side note: 😱
Roland may look cute at times and act like a little prince by the name but he has an alter ego when he gets crazy and we call him “Rolando De Guzman”!!! You can Follow Roland (& Rolando) on Instagram @RolandRoyceJr

Meet Lil Boy

Meet Lil Boy!

The newest addition to our Fur Family (not even 6 months in yet) is Lil Boy, who has a BIG personality! He might be small and super cute, but this little dude is the annoying little brother of the crew! He LOVES his ball and will play with it 24/7! He was a stray picked up and adopted from the shelter and rescued by us on a van trip one day!

He also like to run away and has to be on a leash at all times! Is very demanding when it comes to getting what he wants. Loves to chase the cat and mess with the other dogs! Has been know to pick a fight or two (even chase a human maybe a few) 🤦‍♀️

We are still in training and working on him!

Meet Petunia

Meet Petunia

Hi I’m Petunia a pretty little princess with paws, who loves to play, give kisses and have plenty of love to go around! I’m Extremely loving and sweet once you get to know me. But, don’t be surprised if I don’t know you and attempt to protect my family! Petunia is a Beagle Mix with a little Pitbull in her DNA.

I was originally adopted and had a home with other fur babies until one day my now ex-dog Mom fell onto hard times. So one day she dropped us all off at the shelter! I was rescued by @BirdiesDoghouse along with one of my other siblings (Krypto) too!

If we had not rescued Krypto we never would have met Petunia!

Foster Fur Family

There are a few fur babies that we fostered but they didn’t end up becoming part of our crew, however, they deserve to be introduced to you!
