Meet Milo: The OG at Birdie’s Doghouse

Milo holds a special place in the heart of Birdie’s Doghouse. He’s not just any dog; he’s the OG, the littlest guy in town, and quite possibly the one who sparked the creation of Birdie’s Doghouse itself. Without him picking out Birdie at the shelter, the whole venture might never have come to be.

 

 

Milo’s Background:

Milo is a Toy Poodle, though we suspect he might actually be a Tiny Toy Breed. He typically stays around 5 lbs, depending on his food intake, especially his love for treats. At 11 years old, he’s matured gracefully from black to a charming grey.

 

 

Personality Traits:

Neutered and friendly with both humans and dogs, Milo has a personality that shines. He’s learned to vocalize his desires, often screaming like a hyena for attention. Despite his size, he’s mastered commands like sit, high-five, shake, lay down, “fetch” or “go get it” and, of course, speak!

 

 

Milo’s Preferences:

Milo is an excellent cuddler and prefers being held 24/7. He’s accustomed to “Buttler Style Service” and enjoys luxury accommodations, with The Four Seasons and Trump being his top choices. However, he’s equally content in his RV, one of his favored modes of travel.

 

 

Outdoor Etiquette:

Milo is well-trained when it comes to outdoor potty breaks. He’ll happily relieve himself on grass, concrete, or patios, with a little guidance. And if he needs to go urgently, he’ll let you know with whines, barks, or even collar jingles!

 

 

Travel Companion:

While Milo may shed a tear or two in some cars, he thrives on being held, especially during rides. He’s a fan of #VanLife in the RV and enjoys the scenic views from the back of a Mercedes Smart Car. But, he’s traveled on boats, planes, and many other types of moving “things.” His willingness to travel shows as he will hop into his case or stroller for travel, or any container, really, with a simple command.

Milo’s Joys:

Toys and treats are Milo’s absolute favorites, and he’s excellent with cats, as evidenced by his feline brother, Johnny the Cat Dog. Milo is also quite versatile, wearing clothes and drinking from a bottle with ease. Cuddles and being held are his favorite things!

 

 

 

Culinary Preferences:

Milo has a diverse palate, munching on almost anything, including vegetables like carrots, celery, and asparagus. His love for food extends to the finer things as he’s always eating out or ordering in steak, tacos, hamburgers, salad, and more from the BEST restaurants in town. If he had to pick his favorite dog food or two his fridge is usually stocked with Freshpet dog food and if he’s in the mood for Kibble Blue Buffalo Dry Dog Food will do the trick.

    • Has learned to speak and SCREAMS like a hyena anytime he wants something now!
    • Knows how to sit, high-five, shake, lay down, and of course SPEAK!
    • Is an excellent cuddler
    • Would prefer to be held 24/7
  • Preferences and Habits:
    • Requires Buttler Style Service (Puppy Lifts are a must)
    • Prefers to stay in luxury-style accommodations (i.e. The Four Seasons & Trump are his favorites) otherwise you can find him in his RV as he has a few of them!
    • Knows to go outside anywhere! He will poop or pee on grass, concrete, and/or patios. Just tell him once where outside is and he will forever know! Also, if he desperately needs to go he will whine, speak, and has now found a way to jingle his collar over and over to get your attention! Worst-case scenario he might go on you if you refuse to take him out but that is extremely rare although it has happened!
  • Traveling Buddy:
    • Great at traveling but does cry in some cars. Prefers to be held if at all possible when riding! Does great in the RV #VanLife since it’s like a big dog house he’s riding in. Also enjoys catching a lift in the Mercedes Smart Car because he can see out of the windows while riding in the back!
  • Other Attributes:
    • Loves toys and TREATS are his favorite!
    • Excellent with cats as he has one for a brother! (Meet Johnny the Cat Dog if you haven’t already…)
    • Will wear clothes and drink out of a bottle!
    • Eats almost anything including Vegetables: Carrots, Celery, Asparagus, etc…
    • Loves to get in his case or stroller for travel but will get in almost anything he can fit into all you have to do is say “Get in or Up”!
  • Special Note:
    • Milo is The ONLY pup we have that was purchased from a pup shop! 😭
